Did you know that it’s World Chocolate Day every 7th July? There’s a day for just about everything isn’t there?! Food days are just a casual bit of fun for sure, but why not use them to inject some cooking challenges into every day life? Besides, any excuse to enjoy some chocolatey baking is fine by me! To help you with some ideas for World Chocolate Day I thought I’d do a round up of my favourite chocolate recipes from the blog for inspiration. There’s a nice mix here of cakes, tray bakes, muffins and biscuits; something for everyone!
Recipes For World Chocolate Day
Ooey Gooey Chocolate Brownies
This has got to be the ultimate classic brownie. The OG. The foundation for any brownie lover. This recipe delivers a satisfying crunchy topping and underneath that incredible rich chocolate goo. The contrast in texture is to die for. Ugh, it’s too damn good! All chocolate lovers are guaranteed to go crazy for this recipe.
Chocolate Chip Tray Bake With Vanilla Frosting
This is a great celebration cake with popular flavours and textures that everyone is guaranteed to love. If you fancy hosting a chocolate themed get together for World Chocolate Day (I mean it’s a little extra but why not?) then this is one to bake for sure! It has lovely moist sponge filled with sweet chocolate chips, and it is then topped with a delicious thick vanilla frosting. A total party in your mouth!
Chocolate Ginger Biscuits
I absolutely adore ginger, and I think chocolate and ginger are best friends. If you fancy more of a sophisticated bake for World Chocolate Day then look no further than these delicious chocolate ginger biscuits. They’ve got a rich chocolate taste which is followed by the delicious warmth of ginger that grows as you eat them. They taste especially lovely with a nice cup of tea. Earl Grey is my favourite with these biscuits.
Chocolate and Banana Frozen Yoghurt
This frozen yoghurt recipe is absolutely perfect for Summer; it is cool and satisfying but even better it is filled with natural sweetness from banana and Greek yoghurt with no refined sugar. A more wholesome alternative to chocolate ice cream. Also, unlike a lot of frozen yoghurt recipes this one is no-churn, meaning you don’t need any fancy equipment to make it. In fact in just 5 minutes you can have it ready to chill in the freezer. Enjoy as scoops or popped into ice cream moulds.
Banana Nutella Muffins
Chocolate and banana really are best friends. And no list of recipes for World Chocolate Day could be complete without a recipe containing Nutella! These muffins are surprisingly easy (and fun!) to make and they deliver incredibly flavoursome muffins that stay moist for days. That Nutella chocolate swirl that runs through these muffins is a dream. You will not regret giving these a try!
Caramel Brookie
Right, this is quite possibly the most indulgent recipe on this list. So if you want to really do things right for World Chocolate Day this might just be the recipe you need. Are you ready? This caramel brookie has a thick layer of chocolate chip cookie, topped with a layer of chocolate caramel buttons (that melt into a heavenly sticky centre) finally topped with a rich chocolate brownie layer. Sound naughty enough? Make these to share with your pals and you’ll be ever so popular I guarantee it.
Banana Brownies
If you have some ripe bananas that need using up then look no further than this delicious banana brownies recipe. This delivers pure soft and gooey brownies that are rich and infused with lovely banana flavour. One of my most popular recipes and I’m sure you will love these banana brownies too!
