These guys are one of the most talked about subjects on the blog. I just love this business; they bring something fresh, great quality and fantastic value for money to the takeaway scene and I hand my money over to them far too often in exchange for a satisfyingly meaty meal.
This meal is a favourite at Yum Dim Sum HQ. It’s a pulled pork wrap generously filled with tender meat, salad and your choice of extras, in this case crunchy slaw.
Percy’s do the best chips. I’m yet to find anywhere that beats them. Not too long ago they introduced a spicy seasoning you can add, my advice is do it. It’s smokey and sweet and fingerlicking good!
Sometimes I fancy a slightly more saintly side, and forgo the chips (trust me, it’s hard) in favour of corn on the cob. Percy’s cook their corn to perfection, so the kernels are bitten off easily and are still wonderfully juicy and sweet. The cobs are brushed with a little salted butter too.
This was my very first go at Percy’s pastrami lamb, which I ordered in a flat bread. Firstly, let’s take a moment to appreciate the enormous portion of meat! Tell me that’s not value for money at £5.95! The lamb is seasoned with a rub and slow cooked. That’s it. Despite being so simple the lamb is sweet and meltingly tender, as well as lacking any kind of greasiness. As far as takeaways go this lamb flat bread and corn combo is pretty wholesome!
So there you go, a delicious and well deserved Friday night treat! You can order online and get your food delivered, but I recommend ordering over the phone and picking up, it means your chips will be crispier!
