So last weekend this happened…
Naturally. Less predictably this happened…
Wasn’t sure what to expect with this one. Balls and bean curd, it sounded too plain to be tasty. What arrived were three streaming hot balls of incredibly juicy minced beef, sat among a bed of what looks very similar to scrambled egg.
The bead curd itself turned out to be just as underwhelming as plain scrambled egg. They didn’t seem to add much to the dish other than a garnish. The meat itself was much more interesting and like no other beef I’ve tasted. First off it was minced incredibly fine and then steamed, so it was an extremely soft texture. They were also lightly salted and extra juicy (Oh matron!)
Accompanied by a dipping sauce of soy & vinegar these were really tasty and fun to try, but didn’t quite cut it as a future regular order.

Where did you try these Jo?
Hi Danny, this is at Taipan in the Milton Keynes theatre district. It’s my absolute favourite Chinese restaurant, spectacular quality.
